Back to 1985: The incomparably soft cashmere is in demand as never before - but the raw material is becoming more and more expensive, unaffordable for many. In a small village in Upper Franconia, people are thinking: There must be another way! At FRAAS, a feverish search for suitable raw materials and production techniques begins. Soon all departments are working together to develop a new, less expensive material that offers a real alternative to cashmere. The textile expertise of an entire region is used to create the patented synthetic material called Cashmink®. Finer than any fiber found in nature, even 20% finer than cashmere, Cashmink® rivals its model in softness and high-class appearance. It is particularly soft on the skin, environmentally friendly to manufacture and - unlike animal hair - even hypoallergenic. And best of all, the luxurious feel of Cashmink® is affordable for everyone. This is how Cashmink® began its triumphant march around the globe, a triumph that continues to this day. Still made exclusively in our own German factory.
